Building a Better Tomorrow for Those in Need

Our Vincentians serve with hearts full of love and compassion and the Society helps anyone regardless of race, religion, political association, or gender. We are truly blessed with amazing volunteers. Support them and their good works today!

Our Mission

We are dedicated to fighting poverty and hunger
throughout Cook and Lake Counties.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Chicago has been reaching out in our local communities throughout Cook and Lake Counties since 1857.
We have the experience of being a force of good throughout times of war, global pandemics, economic crisis, and social changes. SVdP has helped many with utility bills, rent, food, transportation and medical expenses thanks to the generosity and hard work of our Chicagoland Vincentians and dedicated supporters.

  • We’ve fed countless in need in Chicago and the suburban communities through our food pantries, holiday meal baskets, community dinners and other local events.
  • We’ve clothed the homeless, struggling young families and Veterans trying to make it during rough patches in their lives.
  • We’ve housed those on the brink or in the midst of homelessness through referrals to shelters, locating affordable housing, or paying rent during a short-term set-back.
  • And we’ve continually offered hope to the most vulnerable in our communities when they have no place else to turn.

Why I Said Yes to The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Chicago

Why do we say yes? Serving with The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Chicago is more than a commitment, but a purpose. Together, we walk alongside our neighbors, offering hope, support, and human connection where it matters most. Our Board of Directors and District Presidents share their testimonies on why they said yes, and how they see the need and feel called to respond to our Friends in Need.
