The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is an international non-profit organization dedicated to serving the poor and providing others with the opportunity to serve.
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Chicago is the oldest charity in the Chicago area, with a rich history of serving Cook and Lake counties since 1857. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Chicago provides services to individuals and families in our communities during tough times. We provide tangible assistance to those in need on a person-to-person basis. It is through this personal involvement that makes the work of the Society unique. The help we provide includes the very basics for human dignity such as food, shelter and clothing. Additionally we may help with utility bills, rent, transportation and medical expenses. Most importantly, we provide emotional and when needed, spiritual support. Members of The Society of St. Vincent de Paul grow spiritually through fellowship and in service to others.

Our Impact
We help more than 800,000 people a year in Cook and Lake counties, people who have no where else to turn to. We help out at a local level in more than 116 conferences across Cook and Lake counties. We also operate two thrift stores, many food pantries, community dinner events and also have two eBay sites.
