Donations Change Lives – Purging with Purpose

Do you have items to donate but don’t live near a St. Vincent de Paul Chicagoland Thrift Store? We have you covered! Our donation drives and convenient SVdP Chicago drop boxes make it easy to donate your gently used items and help make a different in the lives of neighbors in need. Your donations go directly to families throughout Cook and Lake Counties.

Please consider turning your unwanted items into hope for others through one of our donation drives or a nearby SVdP Chicago drop box.

We ask that you donate with dignity. Broken, ripped, and stained items cannot be provided to those in need or sold in our store. 

What is a Donation Drive?

A donation drive through the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Chicago is a partnership. We work with local Churches and organizations to set up a truck in hopes to fill it to the brim with donations from the community. Our Vincentians volunteer their time to help unload your car into our truck, bringing your donations back to our Thrift stores.

What Items Can We Accept as Donations?

But… is my stuff worth anything?

Yes! We are incredibly grateful for every donation that supports the mission of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Chicago. whether your items are sold in our thrift stores to fund our programs or are provided directly to neighbors in need at no cost, your pre-loved belongings can make a meaningful impact. That sweater you no longer wear, the kitchenware gathering dust, or the household items you no longer need can become a source of comfort, dignity, and hope for someone else. Every donation has a value, and every donation truly makes a difference.

Can I drop off my donations instead of going to an event?

Yes! Donations are accepted anytime during business hours, up to 30 minutes before store closing.

Business hours for both stores are:
Monday-Saturday: 9a-7p
Sunday: 9a-5p

I have too much to bring and it doesn’t fit in my car. Do you do pickups?

Yes! The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Chicago has partnered with ReSupply for picking up your donations. For more information, click here
