Spirit of Love Benefit

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Chicago hosts the Spirit of Love Benefit each Spring and Fall to raise critical funds that support programs serving our Friends in Need. Proceeds help provide essential assistance to individuals and families facing challenges such as food insecurity, lack of adequate clothing, housing instability, and financial hardship.

Through these programs, SVdP Chicago helps cover rent and utility bills, provides food and clothing assistance, and offers other vital resources that bring hope and stability to those in need. By supporting the Spirit of Love Benefit, you are helping make a meaningful difference in the lives of our neighbors throughout the Chicagoland community.

Giving Tuesday

Since its founding in 2012, GivingTuesday has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity (GivingTuesday.org). Each year, countless worthy organizations participate in GivingTuesday campaigns, all seeking support for important causes. So, what makes the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Chicago different?

Ultimately, that is a question each donor answers for themselves. Every individual is guided by personal values and experiences when deciding where to invest their time, talents, and resources.

At St. Vincent de Paul Chicago, we believe our work is distinguished by our commitment to direct and compassionate action. Through the dedication of our Vincentians, we listen to our neighbors in need and respond to their unique circumstances with care and understanding. We meet people where they are, offering assistance without judgment and treating every person with the dignity and respect they deserve.

Whether helping families keep the lights on, providing food and clothing, preventing eviction, or connecting individuals with critical resources, our mission is rooted in serving those most in need with compassion and hope. None of this would be possible without the generosity of our donors, volunteers, and supporters. Their kindness allows us to continue making a meaningful difference in the lives of our neighbors, one person, one family, and one act of kindness at a time.

This GivingTuesday, we invite you to join us in continuing this mission and helping bring hope, stability, and compassion to those who need it most.

Magic of Christmas

Christmas is a truly magical time of year. Snow falls gently, lights sparkle throughout our communities, and families come together to celebrate the joy of the season.

This holiday season, we are committed to bringing that same joy to local children and families throughout Cook and Lake Counties by hosting Christmas Toy Workshops and Christmas Parties for those in need.

Our Christmas Toy Workshops provide parents and caregivers with the opportunity to shop—completely free of charge—for gifts they personally select for their children. These workshops help families experience the dignity and excitement of choosing meaningful presents for their loved ones during the holidays.

In addition, we will host Christmas Parties where children and their families can meet Santa Claus, enjoy holiday celebrations, and receive gifts from Santa’s bag full of toys.

To make these events possible, we are seeking the support of generous individuals, businesses, and community partners. Donations of new, unwrapped toys, gift cards, financial contributions, and event sponsorships will help ensure that every child experiences the warmth, wonder, and happiness of Christmas.

Your generosity can make a lasting difference in the life of a child and help create cherished holiday memories for families facing difficult circumstances.

Thank you for helping us spread hope, joy, and the spirit of giving this Christmas season.

Together, we can make Christmas brighter for every child.

Conference Hosted Fundraiser Events

To support these important efforts, our Conferences host a variety of community events, including:

  • Trivia Nights
  • Golf Outings
  • BBQ Contests
  • Bingo Events
  • Car Washes
  • Thanksgiving Food Drives
  • Christmas Food and Gift Card Collections
  • Holiday Giving Programs
  • And so much more!

These events not only raise critical funds and donations but also bring communities together in the spirit of service and compassion. Every event, volunteer, donor, and participant plays an important role in helping us fulfill our mission of serving those most in need.

Together, we are building stronger communities, providing hope, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of our neighbors every day.
