A New Chapter of Faith
Curt Schubert Accepts Position as Volunteer Treasurer

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Chicago ADC welcomes Curt Schubert, who will officially take office as Treasurer for the Society on October 1, 2021. During the appointed three-year term, Curt’s goal is to help the Society see success with it’s Strategic Plan of growth.
Faith has been the forefront of Curt’s journey through life, both personally and professionally. A De Paul graduate of accounting and a CPA, Curt’s career has always maintained a purposeful position of faith. From Business Director at Lutheran Services to current CFO for Marian High School, Curt’s dedication of faith carries through all aspects of his life. In addition to volunteering as the new Treasurer for the Society, Curt has been a volunteer Religious Education teacher for over 20 years at his parish, St. Fabian in Bridgeview IL as well as being an active SVdP member.
Born and baptized Catholic, Curt always recognized his faith, but was drawn more closely to God’s works later in life. “I believe God works in our lives in mysterious and subtle ways to bring us to where He needs us most”. Looking forward to an annual “coffee meeting” with a former business associate, is where Curt was told of the volunteer position and how he may be just the right person. After pondering and praying a few days, Curt knew God was calling him to this position.
“Not everyone gets to see a vision on the wall, or witnesses a weeping statue of Mary, my vision comes from within other people. I live by the gospel “Love God, Love your Neighbor”, and to me that means your neighbor is everyone you meet and everywhere you meet them.”
Dedicated to his faith, family and community, the Society is very excited to welcome Curt to the SVdP family. When not working, and giving back, Curt enjoys sports, both watching the White Sox and coaching our young future leaders.
